What does the AVAIL light allow you to do? - ✔️✔️The ground handling bus is now
powered (EXT AVAIL or APU), the cargo doors and handling system, as well as the
auto refueling system, are also powered and usable. The ground service bus could also
be selected over to the ground handling bus(door 1L). Oh yeah, of course the AVAIL
also allows you to select external power ON.

Okay we're onto the Yaw Damper switches now. You look up and notice both INOP
lights are illuminated. Why is this? Can we now try the test switch on the accessory
panel? - ✔️✔️The yaw dampers (and test switch) require 1 aligned IRS and respective
hydraulic power for system to be tested.

When you walk into a cold, dead airplane,
what are your first steps towards applying electrical power? - ✔️✔️Battery switch ON,
STBY PWR Selector to AUTO

What buses are now powered? - ✔️✔️Hot battery, battery, standby AC, standby DC

What do you have now for instruments, communications, and navigation -
✔️✔️Standby ADI, airspeed, altimeter, and engine instruments, left VHF, left VOR,
center ILS, magnetic compass

If there were an AVAIL light on External Power, what would that tell you? - ✔️✔️AVAIL
means external power has the proper phase and voltage.

Today, instead of an AVAIL light, you have to use the APU. After completeing your
safety check, you take the APU selector to ON. What do you see? - ✔️✔️A momentary
fault light as the APU valve opens

When you take the APU selector to start what occurs and what is the power source -
✔️✔️The APU battery provides power the starting

What could FAULT the APU during start - ✔️✔️Overtemp (EGT), underpressure (oil),
or overspeed (N2)

What else has occurred with the APU selector ON and what's the power source for all
this? - ✔️✔️The left forward fuel pump (DC pump if AC not available) starts up and the
APU inlet door opens. The APU Battery powers the APU Starter, the Air Inlet Door, and
control circuitry. The ship's battery is used for fire protection, the APU Fuel Valve, and
the DC Start Pump.

,Once power is established, and you've turned on the exterior lights for the walkaround,
you reach up and turn all 3 IRSs to NAV. What do you expect to see and what does it
mean? - ✔️✔️ON DC lights will momentarily illuminate as the system tests the DC
power source, then they will extinguish and the ALIGN lights will illuminate.

Fast forward everything now. There you are flying along FD&H, you get an EICAS
message of R IRS DC FAIL. Sure enough, the R DC FAIL light is illuminated. What
happened? Is it a problem? - ✔️✔️DC FAIL simply notifies you that the associated DC
backup (static inverter) has failed, and DC power is lost. As long as AC power is still
available, the IRUs will operate normally.

The yaw damper INOP lights extinguish but you notice the L IRS ALIGN light begins
flashing when the C and R ALIGN lights extinguish. What could cause that? What could
cause all 3 ALIGN lights to flash? - ✔️✔️A fault in the Left IRS. If all 3 ALIGN lights had
been flashing, it could have been...
1) No present position entered yet
2) the aircraft was moved during the alignment phase
3) significant difference between last location at shut down, and present location
entered.

Next set of switches are the EECs. What is their story? - ✔️✔️The EECs compute the
max limits for thrust by TRIMMING fuel during high power settings and rapid thrust lever
advances.

Is it possible to still exceed the maximum thrust limits with operational EECs? -
✔️✔️No. However, the EECs do not prevent exceeding max temp limits.

What is the power source for the EECs? - ✔️✔️The EECs are powered by their own
(PMG) generator, and still work with a loss of electrical power.

Ok, while we're now on the hydraulics panel, if we were to experience a leak in the
Center system, what do we still have if we're down to standpipe fluid? - ✔️✔️Reserve
Brakes and Steering.

Fast forward to takeoff roll. What happens at 80kts? - ✔️✔️1) Auto-throttle servos
disengage (THR HOLD)
2) Auto-brakes are armed for RTO
3) The RAT is armed for auto-deployment (loss of both engines)
4) Master Caution Lights and beeper are inhibited

We're blasting along at about 120kts (prior to V1) and have a catastrophic failure of the
left engine that blows apart the left engine Hydraulic pump (Bummer!). What do you do?
Describe each step and what it causes. - ✔️✔️1) Throttles to Idle will engage Auto-
brakes

, 2) Throttles to Reverse will deploy the speedbrakes

Fast forward to cruise now. We're flying along FD&H. suddenly ALL of the CRTs in the
airplane go dark. What happened? - ✔️✔️Loss of all AC power due to loss of both
generators (maybe from loss of both engines, lets just assume that is the case).

There's a green light on the overhead panel. What caused it and what are is the
immediate action item for this scenario? - ✔️✔️The only green light on the overhead is
the PRESS ON light for the RAT (activated by loss of both engines)
Immediate Action Item:
1.ENGINE START Selectors (both)...........FLT
2.Thrust Levers (both)...........................Close
3.FUEL CONTROL Switches (both)....CUTOFF, then RUN
4.If engine appears stalled, or approaches placard limit - repeat above step as needed.
Note: After step 3, start the APU
"DUAL ENGINE FAILURE CHECKLIST"

What activates the demand pumps in the AUTO position(767)? - ✔️✔️In AUTO, the
DEMAND pumps are activated by...
A) system pressure dropping to the demand level, OR
B) Anticipating a drop in system pressure (ie. activation of high demand items as gear,
flaps, etc.).

Take a look at the overhead discrete annunciator lights. The top row is all the Door
lights. How many doors are on the EMER DOORS light? - ✔️✔️Two overwing exit
doors.

Down to the fault lights now. Fast forward to flying along FD&H on the Center autopilot.
Could I get a STAB TRIM light? - ✔️✔️Not with any autopilot engaged. The STAB
TRIM light tells me I'm commanding full speed trim (ie: yoke trim switches only) and I'm
not getting full speed. 1 or maybe even both motors are failing to respond.

If I'm engaged on a single channel autopilot and hit yoke trim, what happens? -
✔️✔️Autopilot disengages.

Now, back to the gate during cockpit setup. The R ELEC HYD pump is running for
normal brakes and I decide to run the yoke full left and right to see if my seat is
positioned OK. What will I see on the overhead discrete lights? Why? - ✔️✔️The
SPOILERS light. With the spoiler being commanded for roll assist on only 1 hydraulic
system, some of the panels failed to position as commanded and tripped the light and
message.

What does the RUDDER RATIO light mean? - ✔️✔️The simplest cause is that there's
no pressure on the Left Hydraulic system. Otherwise, there's a fault in the system. At Hi
