Text 01 Dada-Kunst

M1 Der Dadaismus entstand 1916 in Zürich als erste Anti-Kunstbewegung der
Avantgarde. Der Nonsens-Name „Dada“ drückte kindliche Absurdität aus sowie die
Ablehnung konventioneller Kunst.

Ende des Ersten Weltkriegs entwickelte sich Berlin zum Zentrum des Dadaismus.
1918 wurde hier das Dadaistische Manifest veröffentlicht. George Grosz und Richard
Huelsenbeck gehörten zu den Berliner Dadaisten, die mit ihren politischen Protesten
Aufsehen erregten. Höhepunkt des Berliner Dada war 1920 die Erste Internationale
Dada-Messe.

Die Dada-Künstlerin Hannah Höch war an der Entwicklung der neuen Technik
Fotomontage beteiligt. Dabei wurden Fotos von alltäglichen Gegenständen und
prominenten Persönlichkeiten aus Zeitungen ausgeschnitten und zu einem neuen
Kunstwerk verarbeitet. Das Vertauschen von Köpfen, Körpern und Objekten wirkte
surreal und satirisch.

Andere deutsche Vertreter der Dada-Kunst waren in Köln der Maler und Bildhauer
Max Ernst und in Hannover Kurt Schwitters, der Malerei, Musik und Dichtung in
seinem Werk vereinte. Das bekannteste Mitglied der Dresdner Dada-Gruppe war der
Maler Otto Dix.

Die respektlose, provokante Dada-Kunst war eine Reaktion auf den Ersten Weltkrieg
und stellte viele Werte der bürgerlichen Gesellschaft in Frage.
