HONOR CODE - ANS-Cadet will not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate anyone who does. If
the cadet is arrested for any criminal offense or have contact with a LE officer the cadet
must inform their agency immediately or if self-sponsored must notify the class
supervisor. The arrested cadet will be suspended from the program. If the cadet is found
not guilty of the charges he/she will be eligible to return to the program although this will
be in all likelihood with another class.

FALSE STATEMENT - ANS-Knowingly signing or making any false or misleading
documents.

FORGERY - ANS-Altering or using any documents without authorizations. Exam or ID
documents

CONSPIRING - ANS-Operating in collusion with another person with the intent to
commit an offense prohibited by these rules and regulations.

HARRASSMENT - ANS-Offensive or derogatory comments based on:
RCSRNO. (Directly or indirectly)
Sexual harassment: unwelcome sexual advances

LANGUAGE - ANS-Use of profane language or gestures

INSUBURDINATION - ANS-Displays of defiance, disobedience, recalcitrance,
arrogance, insolence, a confrontational attitude or otherwise showing content for
authority will not be tolerated.

INTOXICANTS - ANS-Forbidden to drink or come to class under the influence.

HAZING - ANS-Action or situation that can endanger the physical or mental health or
safety of a student

, MISUSE OF CLASSROOM COMPUTERS - ANS-Do not use the computers for
anything personal, only use it for what it is assigned.

CHEATING AND PLAGIARISM - ANS-Results in dismissal and it is not allowed.

PLAGARISM - ANS-Will result in increase by 50% of the initial makeup or written
assignment. A second offense will result in 25 demerits which is cause for a hearing.
Agency notification will be made if cadet is hired.

Chain of command - ANS-Dean of the institute of public safety, Associate dean of
criminal justice training, Class supervisor, Cadet

Class supervisors - ANS-are responsible for the day-to-day conduct of classes, and are
carefully chosen for their interests and skills from the various participating law
enforcement and corrections agencies in Broward County. They also oversee the
classes, evaluate progress of each cadet under their supervision and are responsible
for making recommendations concerning retention or termination of cadets.

Procedure for response to commands - ANS-Any cadet, who receives an which he/she
believes is contrary to Institute policy or believes he/she has not received fair treatment,
may request a REDRESS OF WRONGS through the chain of command. This redress
must be in writing on a CADET MEMO and submitted with out delay. This is considered
a direct order and the cadet must submit the memo within the hour or if at the end of the
day, submit the memo before morning formation. If a disciplinary hearing is warranted
before the Dean his/her designee, the hearing will be granted within three training days
to determine the impropriety, if any.

Memos - ANS-All of _______ and make-up work will be typed in the Arial font, size 11
and will be typed double spaced. Exception: Demerit/merit memos can be written.

Addressing staff members and members of the public - ANS-When addressing staff
members and members of the public, cadets will observe a respectful attitude and use
the proper title of the individual when initiating conversation. if the official title is
unknown, the cadet will address the individual as SIR or MA' MA

Standing in position of attention - ANS-All cadets are required to stand in the position of
attention when speaking with all personnel on academy grounds (excluding fellow
cadets). Cadets will remain at the position of attention while engaged in conversation;
unless placed at ease. while extending the greetings of the day to an IPS staff the cadet
