started as a scribe in the ER. I felt I was doing an adequate job, no one had brought me any critiques, it
was smooth sailing. But one day, my boss takes me aside and lets me know I'm struggling and if I can't fix
it after a repeat training session with him, then I would have to be let go. At the time I was so angry,
because it was months now after I was hired and I was not told by anyone at anytime that I was
struggling. I felt betrayed, but I contained my composer because this job was important to me and I
wanted to succeed. I also had to realize that he may be a little on the late side but my boss was offering
me redemption, which is a courtesy so I needed to be thankful. So thats what I did, I thanked him for his
critiques and I told him I wouldn't let him down.

recently hired and I was training her. During the training there were multiple times I felt she had a poor
attitude and difficulty with accepting criticism, so I sat her down and asked her if there was anything she
was unhappy about with her training so far. From there the person really opened up with me regarding
her frustrations and insecurities. I was able to provide some clarity and clear up any miscommunications,
and we were also able to formulate a new game plan.

D in organic chemistry. I had made a C in English prior to this, but I had rationalized that it was
circumstance. I retook the course and made an A and brushed it off. However in organic when I made a D

,I actually felt lost. I had started to doubt myself in every aspect, and I realized I was just struggling,
everything felt so difficult and I couldn't comprehend why because High had been so easy. So I had to
buckle down. I was constantly in professor's offices trying to stay afloat, trying to get by, and trying to
adapt to as much as I could to this knew world of learning. In the end where I was not able to pas organic
the first attempt, I was able to pass and do better in harder courses.



What quality or personality trait is most important in the PA profession? - ✔✔servant leadership,
because this term encompasses so many valuable traits. You are able to work independently and take
the lead when necessary, but also able to become a valuable team player. This also implies you have high
adaptability. Being a servant leader also implies that you are a servant to the patient's. Caring and for
them while maintaining respectful communication and listening with an empathetic ear.



Do you get frustrated or angry? - ✔✔To me angry implies I am reacting strongly for inappropriately,
when I become overwhelmed if I am able I ask to step out for a moment and I count backwards from 10,
take some deep breaths, and think about things that bring me joy. This always to rethink the situation
with a clearer head. For example, if deadlines and events start piling up on me, rather than getting
frustrated, I take a moment, re-evaluate and re-prioritize and approach one thing at a time.



Tell me about a time that you made a mistake at work? - ✔✔I was triaging a patient while feeling very
overwhelmed and I did not notice they needed to take a 3 hour GTT, by the time it was her turn to see
the doctor she had already waited a hour. When the doctor asked if when her second blood draw was
the patient was confused and she eventually figured out she never started the test. I was the one who
had to profusely apologize and tell the patient she needed to stay 3 more hours today or come back to
the office another day to complete the test. I apologized profusely, and that patient's frustration taught
me the importance of slowing down when analyzing the task at hand. There are moments where speed
is important and moments when attention to detail is more vital.



What do you do if a patient refuses to be seen by a PA? - ✔✔I would try to speak with the patient and
see if I can provide any clarification regarding any misguided beliefs. If the patient is still uncomfortable
with seeing a PA then I would see if they could be squeezed in today on the doctor's scheduled or if they
would like to reschedule to see the doctor.

the person and attempt to clarify the situation. The PA or physician may have forgotten and would
having fun when they realized they needed to be at work, and felt obligated to show up rather than call
out. Regardless I would encourage them to go home, even going so far as to offer to pay for them to
Uber home. If the physician or PA refuses to cooperate I would inform them that I will have to involve a
super visor as being drunk at work can endanger patients.
