The Egyptian numeration system used base 10 and hieroglyphs as digits, while the
Babylonian numeration system used base 60 and symbolic drawings to represent numbers.
The Egyptian system had symbols for 1, 10, 100, and 1,000, and had a digit for zero in their
accounting scripts. The Babylonian system had more symbols to represent numbers up to
60, with a special symbol for zero as a placeholder in their positional number system.

In terms of functionality, the Egyptian system was not positional, meaning that the position
of the digit did not affect its value. On the other hand, the Babylonian system was positional,
with the placement of the symbols determining their value.
