o Heterotrophic: Organisms (like humans) that rely
on external sources for food.
3. Respiration:
o Anaerobic: Occurs without oxygen.
o Aerobic: Requires oxygen.

Humans: This involves the removal of waste
products (such as urea) from the body through
urine, sweat, and other processes.
Plants: Plants excrete waste products through
various mechanisms, including the shedding of
leaves and the release of excess salts.
6. Autotrophic Nutrition:

food.
o Autotrophic mode of nutrition involves self-synthesis
of food.
o Two types:

Parasites feed on living hosts without killing
them.

o Holozoic Nutrition:
Organisms take in food int the form of solid
and liquid substances, and nutrients are
extracted from the food inside their bodies
through various processes provide them
nourishment.
Examples: Humans, amoeba, and other
animals.

o 6CO₂ + H₂O + Light Energy (Sunlight, Chlorophyll) →
C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂
o Photosynthesis Reaction
10. Definition of Photosynthesis:
o Photosynthesis is a biochemical process occurring
in green plants.
