4. Practice cannot be owned by applicant or others with multiple relationships.
5. Applicant must be an employee, or have an agreement in place - compensation paid to
agency, unless applicant has temp license.

3. Education - 60 hours of grad education, must be CACREP or Southern Association of
Colleges and schools
4. Minimum 2 years supervised post master experience - not less than 10 hours per week, and
not less than 50 hours supervision per year
5. Pass exams
Upgrading from CPC or CAC to LPC - what are the requirements? - ANS Copy of current
renewal certificate, and
1. verification of certification by NBCC
2. OR Verification of 5 years experience as CPC
3. OR following Professional Counseling by Examination rules above
*CAC can show PES examination rather than NCE
LPC by Reciprocity - what are the requirements? - ANS 1. Hold current license from another
state which is in mutual reciprocity agreement w/TN (if MHSP, current license must be MHSP)
2. Evidence of high moral character and professional ethics
