When having to be diagnosed with a sickness that have a poor prognosis, clients can begin to become afraid of the few months or weeks that they have left. These months or weeks could be filled with continual medical care, indescribable discomfort, and the psychosocial drive to a quick death. Euthanasia can be a choice for thes e patients. Euthanasia is the conscious act of ending a life to soothe pain and suffering. Physician -assisted suicide (PAS) is the act of enabling a patient to end their life by providing the means to do so. These two operations of assisted suicide have be en highly controversial and have prevented some physicians from supporting it due to the different moral and ethical point of views. When analyzing these viewpoints, many have discussed that we should not only look at the ethics of helping a person die, bu t also the financial concerns, the aspect of life, and the duty of a health care professional.
