The perks of being a wallflower
1. Introduction
In the course of the story you get to hear the life of Charlie for 1 year. He
goes to High School for the first time. He continues fun but also less fun
moment. He has also experienced a few traumatic experiences in the past
that he can't give a place to, such as the death of his Aunt. The book itself
is actually pieced by letters that Charlie sends to the reader. In those
letters he tells all the recent events and you really get a glimpse into his
head.
2. New School
Charlie is going to high school for the first time. Unfortunately, he doesn't
give any friends yet, after a traumatic experience with his former best
friend Michael who committed murder himself. His old friends don't want
to talk to him anymore because they think of Michael every time.
However, during his first week at his new school, he does make new
friends. Sam and Patrick, his brother and sister but they will become his
best friends throughout the book. They also introduce Charlie to their
other friends such as: Bob, Mary Elizabeth, Alice,.... In addition, he also
becomes good friends with his English teacher Bill. Bill sees Charlie for
who he is and he also sees that Charlie is actually very talented. He has
Charlie all kinds of books that he has to read and write essays about.
3. Sam
From the beginning he is actually a bit in love with Sam, but because Sam
has clearly said that she was too old for him, he tries not to think of Sam
as his great love anymore. Sam also has a sweetheart named Craig. As a
result, he enters into a relationship with Mary Elizabeth, which would soon
be terminated. At a party he had to give a kiss to the most beautiful
person in the room. And instead of.dat he gave the kiss to his girlfriend
Mary Elizabeth, he gave it to Sam. Because of this, the relationship with
Mary Elizabeth was over, but Sam also did not want to speak to him
anymore. This was because Mary Elizabeth and Sam were very good
friends and this was not good for their friendship. After Charlie kissed
Sam, no one wanted to talk to Charlie for 2 weeks.
