Post 1
What technology do you find most beneficial to use in your work or school setting?
The Technology that I found most beneficial to use in my work and school are computer and
computerized devices. Computers has revolutionized the medical and nursing field and change the was
we do daily tasks and communicate with each other. Computers were introduced to the medical field in
the Late 1950’s and since then the use of technology has become a specialty to enhance nursing care
and efficiency.
Why do you find this tool useful?
Computers and computerized devices are useful to communicate and do tasks that would otherwise
take a very long time manually. Computers allows people to exchange information instantly such as
messaging, emails , discussion platforms ( such as our course shelf) so we do not need to be in a
classroom or a specific location to provide the information that is needed. Without computers and
computerize devices online classes are not possible so for me these tools make getting an education,
learning new skills and completing nursing school possible.
Least beneficial
While computer provide more benefit that not one trend that as become least beneficial provide
opportunity for unauthorized access and sharing of information, especially on social media . Because
information is instantly shared and can go viral instantaneously this can breach patient privacy and
confidentiality and a huge financial burden for the organization and suffering to the patient.
My dream technology would be a computer that can separate the cancer cells from the body and
destroy them , without causing any harm to the patient. This technology will be minimally invasive ,
like a magnetic it will pull all the cancer cell in one location and destroy all. For me this is so important
because the complication of chemotherapy and surgeries create so much damage to tissues and the
poor body images that are left is emotionally distressing for patients and families.
