The Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, is the site of worship I selected todescribe. Notre Dame Cathedral is an amazing example of ecclesiastical architecture
devoted to the Virgin Mary. Construction began in 1163 and was fully completed by
1345, however it has been damaged and restored several times over the years,
including a severe fire in April 2019. It's a catholic church, which means it's a center
of Christian devotion and worship.
Notre-Dame de Paris, normally known as Notre-Dame Cathedral, is a Parisian house
of God church. It is the most well known of the Middle Ages Gothic church buildings,
eminent for its size, history, and compositional significance (Britannica, n.d.).
Notre Dame Cathedral is a magnificent structure that is difficult to overlook due to
its immense size. It is a force to be reckoned with, measuring 59,000 square feet and
standing 114 feet tall.
This was among the first Gothic cathedrals, and it has been built during the course of
the Gothic era. Although the architecture is largely French Gothic, there are also
places that show evidence of the Renaissance and Naturalism periods. The
building's magnificent but eccentric attractiveness is enhanced by the many styles.
It is still in regular use as a Catholic Church. The structure has flying buttresses. A
choir, an apse, and square chapels make up the structure. The interior measures 427
by 157 feet, with a 115-foot-high ceiling and two huge towers on the western façade.
It features three levels and doors with a row of Old Testament monarchs etched on
