The Roman triumph against Carthage in the Punic Wars paved the way for theRoman Empire to be established. Despite Carthage's great successes in the battles,
the Romans were able to outmatch and ultimately overtake the African empire's
remnants (Tchakarov, 2020).
There are many distinctions between government and military, as well as between
Rome and Carthage.
Rome was a dominant land force that became much more powerful after conquering
other Italian nations. Carthage, on the other hand, was a significant maritime force
that extended its power by increased commerce and trade.
The Roman government was largely in turmoil, and they faced many obstacles
around the Roman empire's right flank. The Carthage administration, on the other
hand, was extremely well-organized. The Roman and Carthage empires had very
different governments because the Romans had a nominal ruler rather than a real
monarch, while Carthage had a permanent emperor and the senate had certain
parliamentary authority, unlike Rome.
Unlike Rome, Carthage had a small number of affluent families who influenced the
city. In contrast to Carthage, the Roman army was more trained. Carthage's navy
and marines were superior, but Rome's army was more reliable and stronger.
Carthage had much more diplomatic and economic power, but Rome's government
institutions and army were well-organized.
In summary, because of a stronger government structure, a well-organized army,
and committed people with a desire to expand it.
