The Five Variables that should be addressed in an Expatriate Performance Management

System

Five factors affect the effectiveness of an expatriate performance assessment structure:

performance standards, local environmental factors, how often assessments occur, career growth,

and the fairness of the process. Again, the level of perception in which workers perceive their

work's nature is crucial to assess whether they have a deep conviction in what they are supposed

to do in the real sense. As a line manager, it is also essential that when employees work hard and

give the best out of them, they need to feel cared for (1). Also, they need to be paid appropriately

and respected to reflect on the company's future.

The degree of interaction between the organization and employees is known as employee

engagement. In determining employee efficiency, it is essential as it ensures that a company

develops financially and competitively. Employee involvement is vital to the organization as it is

an added benefit that contributes to the quality of work in terms of determination,

encouragement, concentration, and power (1). Compensation is another aspect closely associated

with the success of expatriates. Expatriates would only be satisfied and active in this respect if

they were well paid. In his two-factor motivation theory, Herzberg considers paying as a factor

that reduces discontent while not causing both success and motivation if adequately handled.
