Impact of the Problem on the Patient

Many patients get admitted into the hospital to entrust that they will be well taken care of,

According to the American Journal of Infection control there is about 721,800 acquired

infections that are acquired each year that has amounted to $10 billion cost to the hospitals. With

this statistic some hospitals have adopted an electronic monitoring system.

(Durant;Willis;Duvall.2020).

Methods that were use were through surveys and interviews as well as analysis of trends. Along

with knowing infection trends after it was implemented.

evidence is III and the evidence was seen when the soap and hand dispensers in rooms and

doorways were able to relate to interaction of the employee’s tags. This would be able to monitor

personnel that went in and used the hand washing devises and then be able to see the outcome of

the number of patients that were discharged infection free.

Medicare and Medicaid patient which are a big attribute to the health care system because of the

strict guidelines that services will not be paid if patient acquired an infection. When this system

was implemented compliance went up to about 95% at some points.
