The government plays such a large role in public health. One of the most important parts
of public health is that people that need care the most are still able to receive it regardless of
income. The government has stepped in to help ensure this is something that is possible in
order for everyone to have the basic need of healthcare met. The government is able to provide
all type of basic healthcare services to those that qualify for it. One of the issues that is becoming
more relevant in my community is the increase in people being diagnosed with asthma. In
Arizona, this is some of the worst conditions for a person with asthma to be. This personally
affected me shortly after moving here while in middle school. The local, state and national
government has been instrumental in ensuring that everyone with asthma has been able to be
treated appropriately as well as have accesses to all asthma related information through websites
that provide this health information. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, people with asthma
are at a higher risk than ever before.
