Introduction
Do you work for an organization and felt the company needed to make some change from
within? I am sure we all have felt this way. I Have a friend that feel the same way working at
Taco Bell. We sat down and thought of ways to improve the organization? We came up with
the thought of maybe it is the staff, the policies, maybe even the products? After talking with
my friend, I wanted to change Taco Bell and its leadership style. The vision statement said
one thing, but the General Manager was the complete opposite.
The needed changes within the organization.
During my employment with Taco Bell, I noticed that there were some things that could
have been changed in order to make Taco Bell’s mission and vision statements a reality.
Using Kotter’s 8-step change model, the below steps in my opinion may aid the
organization to effective changes:
Step 1: Incentives for meeting all drive-thru times and accuracy of customers
order.
Step 2: Hire leaders not managers. Hire the right people that have the
qualifications to move up within the organization.
Step 3: Continue to promote within the organization, hiring right people, and
provide a safe work environment.
