Thomas Gallaudet - CORRECT ANSWER Neighbor was Alice Cogswell, a young Deaf girl. He was
motivated to find a way to teach her and "bring her to God". Went to France to find a way to teach her,

and then together they came back to the states and started the first Deaf school in America. Located in
